Board of Directors Meeting

August 5, 2006

Voting Results

The two issues listed below were voted on by the Board Of Directors, August 5, 2006. The point system will take effect January 1, 2007and must be met to send a team to the 2008 Top 6 State Championship.  The Competition Changes will apply to the 2007 State Top Six Championship.

The following voting Directors were in attendance:

Panhandle Region - Gene Lowrey
West Region - Chris Pullig
South Region - Bill Marion
North Central Region - Robert Brown
Northeast Region - Philip Webb


Club Point System - Passed by Unanimous Vote.

50 Club Points Required to Send one or more Teams to the State Top Six Championship. Club must be affiliated with the Texas BASS Federation Nation and points accumulated between January 1st and December 31st of the previous year. Clubs that join the Federation Nation after September 30th must have their Qualifying Activity points approved by the State Board of Directors as submitted by their Region Director.

Competition Changes - Passed by Majority. Four votes for, One vote against.

-Remaining 6 anglers of the State Team will be made up of the top angler from each of the six Regions at the State Championship Tournament.


There are other changes that have come down from BASS as requirements for the Bass Club World Championships. Qualifying bass clubs will come from each State's Top 6 Championship Tournament.
-Entry fees will remain $590 which includes big bass entry.
-Six clubs, the two highest ranking clubs from each Region, will advance to the BASS conducted Bass Club World Championship Regional qualifying tournament.

-Each 6 angler team and 1 alternate must be from the same club.
-3 boaters and 3 non-boaters.
-Rosters must be sent to BASS in advance (Date to be announced)
-Clubs may send 1 team (six members & 1 alternate) to State Top 6 Championship if it has between 7 and 23 members in good standing. A second 7 member team may be sent to the State Championship if the club has between 24 and 35 members in good standing. A third 7 member team may be sent to the State Championship if the club has between 36 and 47 members in good standing and so on for each 12 member segment. (This interpretation came from BASS)
