On the first day it was a time of pratice and our champons got a chance to talk with the pros and learn. Launch was a little late but the boys got to spend good time with their pros and got several pointers. The weather was clear with a small breeze and temperatures running in the lower 80’s, both our champions had figured out a good pattern and had located fish.

Dale had my kind of luck. According to Gerald Swindel, who never streches a story, Dale broke off a 10 pounder at the boat when his line got caught under the discharge spout of the Triton boat he was fishing out of! To quote G-Man “ I’ve never heard a person lose a tournament at the boat like that and NOT cuss like a sailor and this young man got right back after it!”
