Our championship held over the weekend at Lake Conchas was a very eventful one, full of twists and turns that I'm sure the six anglers will talk about for years. But I'll leave the dock talk to them as I'm sure everyone has different perspectives, each with their own memories. I would like to take this time to congratulate Todd Town, our 2010 Angler of the Year and Panhandle Region Champion. Todd has been a fierce competitor all year and this win secures his place on the Texas State Team, which will compete at the 2011 Federation Nation Central Divisional Tournament.
I would also like to congratulate Kyle Beckner on his 6.16 lb. big bass he caught on day one. Who said Conchas only has short fish?
On behalf of the anglers who fished the championship I would like to thank Burt & Peggy Reed for the wonderful BBQ meal they had for us on Saturday night. It sure made it easy on everyone not having to drive to Tucumcari for dinner, and allowed time to prepare for day two of the championship.
